And slates are a key part of this trend. Analyst Gartner says business purchases of tablets are set to triple between 2013 and 2016.

Another report from Forrester found many employees are editing documents they started on their work PC at home on their tablet, sharing and co-editing work on tablets via cloud, and using them in the workplace to enhance presentations.

Of course, they can also be used for picking up email on the go, and dialling in to Skype conference calls from pretty much anywhere.

But to enjoy these benefits you have to choose the right tablet.

Share files and folders and change permissions

You can use OneDrive to share photos, Microsoft Office documents, and other files with people.



On the OneDrive website:

  • Pick the file or folder you want to share by selecting the check box in the upper-right corner of the item. You can also pick multiple items to share them together.

  • Tap or click Share on the bar at the top of the page, and then choose a share option:
